Call to Order: The meeting was called to order about 12:45 pm on Wednesday, October 24, 2007 in Hermann Lounge, Hermann Hall.
The meeting was scheduled expressly for the purpose of choosing nominees for the search committees for the IIT Provost and the Armour Dean to recommend to President Anderson and Provost Myerson respectively.
Phil Troyk reviewed the search committee specifications as stated in the Faculty Handbook. He then presented the initial list of nominees for the Search Committee for the Armour Dean. The complete list included 15 nominees. A consensus was reached that the list should be shortened. A procedure was followed whereby two names from each academic unit in Armour College were initially selected. This resulted in a final list of 8 nominees. A motion was made by Jack Sanpper to vote for the whole slate. This motion was seconded by Zia Hassan. Phil Troyk called for a vote. The slate of candidates was unanimously approved. The list of nominees recommended by the UFC for the Search Committee for the Armour Dean is as follows:

The complete list included 37 nominees. A consensus was reached that the list should be shortened and to do this by having a representative from each college select two nominees from the list. This resulted in a final slate of candidates 13 candidates (there was only one nominee from ID). Joyce Hopkins made a motion to vote on the slate. The motion was seconded by Ali Emadi. The list of nominees recommended by the UFC for the Search Committee for the Provost is as follows:
