How to get to the ICSRMS96 Conference
Location:
The setting is at the Downtown Campus of the
Illinois Institute of Technology
in downtown Chicago (at the intersection of Adams and
Jefferson Streets). This is located within walking distance of many
attractions downtown Chicago has to offer, including "The
Art Institute of Chicago", "Sears Tower", the theatre district,
shopping on Michigan Avenue and some of the world's finest and
most innovative architecture.
Travel to Chicago:
Chicago O'Hare Airport for both domestic and
international arrivals, Chicago Midway Airport for some
domestic carriers.
Travel in the Chicago Area:
The simplest method to get from an airport is to take a
Taxi. A ride from O'Hare to downtown Chicago will take about
30 minutes and will cost between $25 and $30. A Shared-Ride
program allows visitors to be charged a $13 flat rate.
A taxi ride from Midway to downtown takes 20-30 minutes and costs
between $20 and $23. For the more adventurous, both airports are
well-connected to the downtown area by the subway system. Maps
are available at the airports and some walking to your hotel may
be required. Once in the downtown area most destinations are
within moderate walking distance.
Lodging Information:
Arrangements have been made with two downtown hotels to house
conference participants: Quality Inn, Downtown and
Days Inn - Lake Shore Drive. Both have reasonable rates.
Other hotel arrangements can be made, but these
must be made by the conference attendee.
